Can I switch or cancel at any time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can switch between FREE / Solo / Team / Business at any time. If you cancel, your plan keeps running until the end of the paid period and then automatically falls back to FREE. Existing content (quizzes, lessons, decks) is preserved — only active sessions are deleted after 48h according to the FREE retention policy.

How does the 14-day trial work?

Accepted Answer

Once per account, you get free access to all Solo features for 14 days. No credit card required. The trial ends automatically — you fall back to FREE unless you actively upgrade. Existing Solo customers cannot restart the trial.

What does 'per-seat billing with proration' mean on the Team plan?

Accepted Answer

You start with any number of seats (3–25). If you add a seat in the middle of a billing period, Stripe automatically charges only the remaining days of the current month/year. When you reduce seats, you receive a credit on the next invoice. Fully transparent via the Stripe customer portal.

Can I get invoices issued to my company name?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the Stripe customer portal you can add your company name, VAT ID and billing address at any time. All invoices are accounting-compliant and generated automatically. For procurement processes requiring upfront approval, use 'Purchase by invoice' (see below).

Question 5

What is the difference between Team and Business?

Accepted Answer

Team is for training teams (3–25 people) with a shared library and LTI 1.3 integration for Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard and Moodle. Business is for L&D departments with bigger reach (2,000 participants per session instead of 500), a branded login subdomain (e.g. academy.yourcompany.com), 1,000 instead of 200 AI generations per month and priority support.

Are there discounts for educational institutions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Colleges, schools and non-profit education providers get individual terms with annual billing via the Enterprise plan or via 'Purchase by invoice'. Email info@insightquiz.de with a short description of your institution and your headcount.

Question 7

How does this compare with Kahoot 360, Mentimeter or Poll Everywhere?

Mostly on the billing model. Kahoot 360's entry team package starts at 25 licenses for roughly $6,000 a year, billed annually. Mentimeter and Poll Everywhere charge per presenter, $12 to $84 a month depending on tier. InsightQuiz Team is $39 a month plus $9 per additional seat with no minimum, monthly or yearly, so a four-person team pays $66 a month in total. Those are September 2026 list prices — worth re-checking before you budget against them.

Do you charge sales tax, and can you invoice a US entity?

InsightQuiz is operated from Germany and invoices in USD. Where US sales tax applies it is calculated at checkout. For institutions that need a foreign vendor on file we provide a W-8BEN-E; no US entity is required to buy from us. Purchase orders with net-14 terms are handled through 'Purchase by invoice' below.

What happens to my data when I switch plans or downgrade?

Content (quizzes, lessons, flashcards) is preserved. Sessions follow the retention of the new plan — e.g. switching from Solo (90 days, configurable) to FREE reduces retention to 48h. As long as you don't actively delete anything, your content stays available, even on FREE.

Question 10

Where is my data hosted, and do you have SOC 2?

Accepted Answer

All data sits in the EU (Supabase Frankfurt region). Participants join with a name and a PIN, so no participant accounts or email addresses are created, and session data is deleted automatically on a schedule you configure. A data processing agreement is available on request. To be straight about it: there is no SOC 2 Type II report and no published VPAT today, and a US data region is on the roadmap rather than shipped. If your procurement requires any of those, email us and we'll tell you exactly where things stand.

Question 11

What counts as an 'active session'?

A session is 'active' as long as it is open for joining (PIN valid). Once you end it or the retention period expires, it no longer counts towards your plan limit. On FREE you can run in parallel: 1 course session + 2 lesson sessions + 1 flashcard session.

How does 'purchase by invoice' work?

Accepted Answer

For public institutions, schools and companies with procurement processes: fill in the form below (organization, plan, seats, VAT ID, optional purchase order number). We send a quote by email within 1–2 business days. After your approval we issue the invoice — no credit card required. Payment terms: 14 days.
